Dresden attracted attention in 2014/15 due to the so-called Monday demonstrations organised by the Pegida movement, which fundamentally advocates for the preservation of Western culture. Unfortunately, these demonstrations were not attended solely by law-abiding concerned citizens; it also became evident how vocal right-wing extremism is in Dresden and across Saxony. Numerous neo-Nazis mixed with the peacefully demonstrating population, displaying their willingness to use violence nationwide. Violent clashes between police, right-wing extremists, and counter-demonstrators regularly occurred, particularly in nearby Leipzig. This potential for violence also manifests in the form of property damage in the city and the surrounding region (of course, not exclusively committed by right-wing extremists). For the clarification and prevention of attacks on your property, the work of our Dresden detectives is indispensable.
In 2014, over 1,000 cases of violent crimes were registered in Dresden alone. The number of unreported cases is very likely much, much higher. There were even 10 fatalities.
According to the police crime statistics (PKS), the number of offences in Dresden has been rising sharply for several years. From 2009 to 2014, the number of crimes increased by a full 40 percent, with a recorded total damage of 66.6 million euros in 2014, although the actual figures are likely significantly higher. Residential burglaries have increased in recent years – as in many other parts of Germany. It is essential to implement measures to protect personal property in the future. Kurtz Investigations Dresden therefore refers to its page on Object Security.
The proportion of foreign suspects exceeding 17 percent is relatively low compared with Germany as a whole, but Dresden has comparatively few immigrants. On the one hand, offences are committed by immigrants living in Germany who lack sufficient prospects for the future, and on the other hand, the proximity to the border is naturally a plausible reason for crimes committed by foreigners.
